Summary
The article expresses that technology is a helpful resource in many areas in our lives, but it is best to monitor children's use. It is important to know the different types of technologies and the unique ways they impact a child. There are ways that educators can monitor the use of technology. Having a whole-school approach to technology safety concerns and partnering with families are just two of the ways that the article listed.
Insights, Lessons Learned, and Takeaways
I believe that technology can be very beneficial for a child under the right supervision. I appreciated the way this article explained co viewing and the importance of it. Co-viewing can bring up important conversations instead of the child looking something up and being led to a dangerous site, for instance.
My Questions

How will this tech empower students to control their own learning?
What percent of children's screen time is co-viewed?
Is screen time consuming too much time in children's lives?
Answers
How will this tech allow students to control their own learning?
It allows them to get instant feedback when taking a quiz or test online.
Is screen time consuming too much time in children's lives?
Recent research has shown that taking away screen time won't motivate children to do other activities. Also there is a weak impact from displacing activities with screen time.
